4th Annual Judi Weingarz Celebration – “The Judi”
In what has become a highlight social event of the summer, the friends and family of Judi Weingarz are hosting the 4th annual “The Judi”, on Saturday, July 9, 2016. “The Judi”, will be held at Tamarack Golf Club on Rt. 59 in Naperville (see Event Info page for more details).
The Judi is a day to celebrate and remember the life of Judi Weingarz. Judi Weingarz truly was a living example of Faith, Family, and Friends. She motivated each of us to be a better person through her actions. Judi was known as a person who innately took the phrase “pay it forward” to heart. She was known in her communities as someone to lend a helping hand to friends, and to those she did not know.
Judi led an active life involved in many charitable and professional organizations. She was a founding and active leader of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Naperville. Judi was a proud alumnus of St. Jude Parish, Elizabeth Seton Academy, and Bradley University (BS ’83) where she majored in both Marketing and Communications. While at Bradley, Judi was an active leader in Chi Omega sorority. Judi was also an active volunteer within school district #204 in Naperville, Illinois, helping in many ways at Patterson Grade School, Crone Middle School, and Neuqua Valley High School.
Judi’s professional career included working as a Marketing Director for multiple large Chicago law firms. Judi’s last position was in the role of Marketing Director for the Interlex Group, an international association of 40 plus law firms spanning four different continents. Judi also held many leadership roles both nationally and locally with the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), and was known for helping college graduates and those with many years of experience in finding employment opportunities in the law marketing profession.
In keeping with that “pay it forward” spirit, The Judi raises money for two nonprofit organizations. The two organizations supported by The Judi in 2016 are outlined below. Every dollar raised from the event goes to support nonprofits. “The Judi” is an event to honor the life of a lady who entertained so many of us. Please join us in what promises to be a fun day of memories, laughter, perhaps a tear or two, and above all else, a CELEBRATION!!!
The proceeds from this year’s event will go to the following charities, as selected by the Weingarz family:
Families Helping Families www.famhelpingfam.org
Families Helping Families provides apartments and volunteer mentors to homeless moms and their children. We believe that the FHF organization embodies the spirit that Judi Weingarz displayed during her life. Judi was known for not only helping family and friends, but she was also frequently first in line to help a new acquaintance or someone that needed some friendly encouragement.
Dup15q Alliance www.Dup15q.org
Dup15q Alliance provides family support and promotes awareness, research and targeted treatments for chromosome 15q11.2-13.1 duplication syndrome. Judi’s cousin, Riley Rozovics, was born with a duplicate chromosome which is now commonly called Dup15q Duplication Syndrome. Riley and her family receive much of their support, information, and acts of community from the Dup15q Alliance.
